Rappel in Tijuca Forest is practiced on the second largest mountain in the Tijuca National Park, at 989m altitude. Our rappelling activity will be vertical, with almost 20 meters of descent and with the immensity of the Tijuca Forest right behind us. The view is incredible!
Tijuca Forest has 3972 hectares and is one of the largest urban forests in the world. Located inside the boundaries of Tijuca National Park and within the city of Rio de Janeiro, it is considered a World Heritage Site by Unesco and has historical and eco-tourism attractions known worldwide.
The tour starts at the entrance gate of the park and includes trails through the forest, visit to the museum, the Cachoeira das Almas waterfall and the trail to Bico do Papagaio. The hike starts smooth and keeps like that until the base of the mountain, where we find a higher climb rugged and steep. From the summit you will be able to enjoy the main mountains of Tijuca National Park, such as Pico da Tijuca, Cocanha, Pedra do Conde, Pedra da Gavea and Pedra Bonita, as well as Sumaré and the top of Corcovado.
Rappel in Tijuca Forest has an estimated duration of 8 hours and all safety equipment is included in the tour as well as insurance.
